Shining from Within with Sheryl Lynn Baas; Mrs. Globe® 2013

The Mrs. Globe® journey is one of beauty, empowerment, and celebration. It is a time to honor the many roles we play as women: mothers, wives, leaders, creators. And yet, beneath all these roles, there is something even more profound: the Light that we are in our essence.
When I had the privilege of walking this journey over a decade ago, I, too, felt the excitement, the anticipation, and the dreams of what could be. Looking back, what made it truly meaningful was not just the title or the crown – it’s the deep realization that our true beauty is not something we put on, but something we allow to shine through us.
An Inside Job
This is something that our beloved Dr. Tracy Kemble also teaches us, reminding us that healing and empowerment are an inside job. Through her amazing work on self-love, she teaches us that we must reclaim our worth, embrace our power, and heal any part of ourselves that has ever believed we are anything less than whole.
Dr. Tracy wisely states that “the most
important relationship you will ever have, is
the one with yourself”. True beauty is not
about being perfect – it is about embracing
every part of who we are, knowing that our
worth has never been up for debate. The
moment we recognize this, we will shine a
Light that shines brighter than any crown.
Presence Power
As a spiritual coach who emphasizes on
living in the Now, I love sharing about the
importance and power of Presence. Being
present in daily life, but also during an event such as Mrs. Globe, is key to our success and experience of joy. It comes from the ability to be fully here, fully alive, fully yourself in each moment.
I often share this quote by Eckhart Tolle: “Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life.”
This competition, this journey, this moment – you will never have it again. So I invite you to embrace it with all your heart. Not just the polished moments on stage or on camera, but also the quiet ones in between; the connections you make, the lessons you learn, the joy of simply being in this Mrs. Globe® experience.
Perhaps you can ask yourself: Am I fully present for this journey? Am I savoring each moment, or am I lost in thoughts of what comes next?
Surrendering the Outcome
Even when the crown is the intended outcome, the truth is that when we are truly present, our energy shifts. We stop worrying about how we are perceived and start embodying the Light that we are. And that Light is magnetic.
How often do we find ourselves grasping for certainty, wanting to know how things will unfold, whether we will win, whether we will be enough? But what if, instead, we trusted that our highest good will be served, no matter what? What if we surrendered the outcome and focused instead on showing up fully, with love and authenticity?
When we do this, we step into our true power. In this way, we always walk away victorious – regardless of the outcome. And that is exactly my wish for you, my sister!
Your Light is Your Greatest Gift
As you step onto the stage of Mrs. Globe – and the greater stage of life – know that the greatest gift you can offer is your Light. May you shine bright and stand out, not just by your outer beauty, but by the beauty of your presence, your love, and your service.
Shine not to be seen, but to illuminate the path for others. Walk not to impress, but to inspire. Love not to receive, but because love is the truth of who you are.
And no matter what happens, remember: You are already everything you seek to be.
With much love,
Sheryl Lynn Baas
